Titre : Recent Advances in Iodine(III)-mediated Synthetic Methods

Endroit: Pavillon Roger-Gaudry, Salle G-715

Résumé

The development of synthetic methods mediated by iodine(III) species is a promising strategy in the field of green chemistry. These hypervalent iodine reagents have given access to numerous useful oxidative methodologies in the past 25 years. In this presentation I will provide a brief overview of our recent work on the use of iodine(III) reagents and catalysts to access stereoselectively α-substituted ketone derivatives. I will also present new iodonium reagents we have developed recently to rapidly access high-value building blocks. Finally I will discuss the potential of iodine(III) species to serve as Lewis acid catalysts, an emerging field of study.
