Deconfined quantum Criticality, emergent symmetry and QED3-Gross-Neveu transitions

Abstract: In this talk, I will discuss the detection of fractionalization and emergent gauge field at the deconfined quantum critical point. The spin spectra with gapless modes and continua and the associated conserved currents will serve as the distinctive signature of the emergent O(4) symmetry at the deconfined quantum criticality. The connection of the such quantum critical point with that of matter fields coupled with gauge field at the QED3 setting will be revealed, and the discovery of deconfined phase of matter -- the algebraic spin liquid and its transition towards various confined phases in the form of QED3-Gross-Neveu universality will be addressed as well.
