Résumé/abstract:
Project 1640 has recently begun surveying nearby, young stars for faint companions. This novel instrument is the first of a new generation of planet imaging devices. It is sensitive to objects as faint as 10^-7 times the central star brightness at less than 1 arc second separation. Project 1640 provides low-resolution spectroscopy of found companions as well. The instrument and recent results will be presented.
