Titre : Intelligent Micro-and Nanocontainers for Applications in Materials- and Biosciences.

Résumé : Having learnt to control structure and properties of ultrathin films this enables one to study their application in many areas. This can be on one hand via construction of multilayer capsules, on the other hand, and this is a focus of this presentation, by preparing a permselective coating on loaded porous containers. Examples of cores are calcium carbonate,-phosphate or silica nanoparticles, halloysites as peculiar clay nanotubes and polymeric core/ shell particles. These inorganic templates can also be used to prepare defined organic particles like loosely packed insulin microparticles. It will be shown that one thus can prepare intelligent feedback active systems that in a coating exhibit tunable compatibility with the matrix. Concrete applications are light or pressure induced intracellular drug release to trigger and  follow cellular processes, use of interacting capsules to establish coupled  enzymatic reactions, embedment in anticorrosion and antibacterial coatings with enhanced mechanics, adhesion and  self-repair. The presentation will also concentrate on mechanistic aspects of the applications like cellular response and corrosion.
