Résumé:
Axonal damage can occur in the adult mammalian CNS through a variety of mechanisms including acute trauma, neuroinflammatory insults or neurodegenerative diseases. A key therapeutic approach is to devise molecular strategies to promote neuroprotection and axon regeneration. This presentation will discuss the identification and development of a family of small molecules that drive an intrinsic growth program in injured adult neurons following acute nerve trauma and of miRNAs that mediate neuroprotection in response to neuroinflammation.
